Crystals for abilites is COMPLETE SHIT!

Well I've rage quit from sourcecraft AGAIN, because of this shitty fucking crystals for abilities system. I'm usually long winded because i want to be clear about what i'm saying but i'll keep this short and to the point for anyone that can't be bothered to read.

1) SOURCECRAFT IS NOT FUCKING MAN VS MACHINE!
2) crystals for levels every fucking map is complete SHIT!
3) It does NOTHING to make the mod more fun to play, and definitely does nothing to help new players to the server.
4) It adds nothing to the mod. it simply cryples it for the first few rounds at map change. heaven forbid you join mid map and are completely FUCKED!
5) turn this shit off and let us play the mod where it is enjoyable to level and unlock more abilites BECAUSE WE CAN ACTUALLY FUCKING USE THEM WHEN YOU WANT TO!

It was an interesting idea/experiment that I've played enough now to definitively say IT BLOWS MASSIVE NIGGER NUTZ!

Let's focus on what the mod actually needs PLAYER RETENTION! aka simplifying, consolidating, refining, and balancing(ADJUSTING abilities both down AND up). We want players to join the server and be SUCKED into the fact that you can greatly change tf2 game play in a way no where else offers so much so that they actually want to keep coming back for MORE. If people rage because they die and can't see the appeal of being able to do the same awesome shit they see other people doing then so be it. There isn't anything you can do about those people, but let's stop trying to turn the mod into nerfed 3 year old friendly bullshit that makes it worse in the process.

end rant, and anyone that ACTUALLY plays the mod please tell me where i'm wrong on any of these points.

I feel that a streamlining of the races in sourcecraft is needed. Desperately.

There are a number of races that are just outright redundant (examples are terran marine, firebat and maurauder. They are all the same damn thing just two have orb of fire or frost).

On top of that, the races that cause issues for the server, like making it crash should just be removed outright. They've done nothing but take away the fun. Instead they should just be beta tested until the kinks are worked out.

Now, there should also be three different classes of races. Basic, Intermediate, Advanced. That's it. The basic races should be simpler, yet have some cool abilities. Nothing too crazy (like the Night Elf, or the Blood Mage). Intermediate and Advanced can only be accessed by DONATORS. ONLY. Intermediates are the races that have better abilities, the terran ghost, the Human Alliance etc. Advanced races are the crazy creme de la creme. These races can only be evolved to with energy, and die after 2 - 3 minutes of play. No butts. That's the only way to justify them, because they always always always rape butt a server. That's where we have the Terran Raven, Battle Cruiser and etc.

Removing alot of the redundant races and the server crashing races will help simplify management for the admins and Naris. Also, it'll help the players become more familiar with the game as a whole and have a better idea as to how each race can be "countered". On top of that, when newbies come and see the intermediate and advanced races they will want to donate because they will see all the silly crazy things those folks are doing, and I know Jiggly can easily market that.

Also, I have an ability I'd like to see be added to Terran Raven! Infinite ammo + accelerated firing speed for Terran Raven. Instead of having homing rockets, you will be able to shoot an infinite stream of DICKS from your primary weapon. Basically, you'd be shooting a bajillion rocket dicks without reloading. The ability should have to be activated with a bound ultimate key, and would last for about 10 seconds. Yeah. I'm serious.

I actually really like metalgears suggestion of spelling out levels of races and adding a donation unlock (once the races are consolidated). We should also bring back the donation $ symbol over players heads during setup and round ends. However i would modify metalgears suggestion to add another level.

NOOB, CRACKHEAD(level 16+), ADVANCED(donation unlocked), AND SUMMONS(donation unlocked). (future donations could give you one non summons race maxed out, or 8 levels in a summons)

We could have like 8 races with 3 abilities + 1 ultimate each as the noob races. then have 16 races with 4 or 5 abilities + 2 ultimates be the crackhead races. then the advanced and summons races would be all the races with lots of abilities and ultimates.

We want people to join and see the addiction of unlocking races and abilities then want to donate for the top races. Players need to still be able to play the mod without donating, but see the advantage of supporting the server. Also no more level resetting which i think really killed sourcecrack with high level players simply not coming back. we want the server as full as possible and shouldn't be running off legitimate players that are there for fun.

I like the idea of top level summons only lasting a few minutes and perhaps have a much higher xp rate for summons to compensate for this.

While i fully think all the races could be revamped and consolidated and I think this new level suggestion sounds great, ultimately i question if naris has the time or desire to do this. I've offered to help with balancing in any way i can so let me know.

As for metalgear's reaver suggestion it sounds to me like a request to be able to wipe out the entire opposing team with one ultimate. doesn't really sound fun to play against and what's the counter to this ridiculous ability(a forcefield bubble the reflects all projectiles)? This is a discussion for a whole other thread for the suggestions forums.

I didn't say the dicks had to do damage. I just wanted people to deal with the mental trauma of seeing an infinite stream of dicks coming at them. Maybe when hit they would see images of messed up dick porn. Or...I dunno. Hear dicks come blasting out their speakers? Man I'm screwed up.

OK OK. I finally figured out why I want dicks everywhere. Sourcecraft is simply a celebration of the absurd focused through the lens of TF2. I think it'd be fun to see abilities that focus mostly on giving players (mild) mental trauma. I mean, wouldn't it be hilarious to force your opponent to look at Lemon party for a couple of seconds in the middle of a serious and epic fight? Anyone agree?

one of the more original suggestions I've heard. i'm all for it as long as it's not just dicks. i want some big ass titties bouncing on my screen. Make a suggestion thread about it.

The SourceCraft Reival has the crystal cost for abilities turned off and I have no intention of turning it on.

This was originally added in an attempt to assuage the people that were bitterly complaining about SourceCraft being OP and, unfortunately, I got too busy with work, kids, wife, life and stuff to notice this thread until I revived SourceCraft :(
